Who is removement?
A Front-End Developer with 25+ Years of Passion about partnering with good people and organizations to provide exceptional web solutions using WordPress, Craft CMS, and custom web development.
I’m Jeremy Techtmann, a front-end developer and the person behind removement, a single-person design studio in southeastern Wisconsin, with my wife, Maggie, our daughter Lainey, and our hound, Moon. We love the outdoors, spending time by the water, and I am an avid disc golfer. I am passionate about art and music and enjoy sharing this love with my family. Lainey’s first concert experience was seeing the Grateful Dead play their 50th reunion tour. We love exploring Milwaukee with our daughter and sharing the incredible art scene with her.
In 1998, I enrolled in a graphic design program in which I was required to take a web design class as part of the program. I fell in love! The web at that time was coming into its own. In one camp, Flash was starting to take over the web, while on the flip-side web standards were being developed, and I discovered Jeffery Zeldman’s Designing With Web Standards and knew I had found my people.
I have spent the last 25 years working as a front-end developer. From cutting up a bunch of images, making image maps, and putting it all in a table…uggggg…at a size of 800px by 600px. All the way from the beginning of responsive design, preprocessors, flexbox, and now the addition of CSS Grid. This is what keeps me interested, what keeps me coming back; there is always something to learn, it is ever evolving and I love keeping up.
I have worked in both the studio and corporate settings. Creating websites for multiple clients representing many different kinds of businesses, to a single corporation working on internal projects from marketing to research and development.
Today, I specialize in WordPress Full Site Editing, Craft CMS development, and modern front-end development practices.
I am all about community! As co-founder of Made in Milwaukee, I enjoy bringing the community together with the talented, creative, and amazing musicians, artists, and designers of Milwaukee.
With over fifteen years of organizing events, Made in Milwaukee has blossomed into an amazing group of selfless people wanting to help and promote the talented and creative people in Milwaukee.
